The term Imperial on this bottle is a reference to the special bodega where this wine comes from. And of this exceptional bodega in the Rioja, the Gran Reserva is of course the top wine. It is made from only the best grapes. It is a blend of 85% tempranillo with 10% graciano and 5% mazuelo. The wine first matures for 24 months in French and American oak. Then another 36 months in bottle in the cellars of the bodega. Then you taste strawberry, black currant, vanilla, spices and coffee.
