In Spain, 'Reserva' means that the wine is aged in oak barrels. In Chile, on the other hand, Reserva is a fairly broad concept with no laws attached. The Winemaker Reserva wines from Valdivieso are simply slightly better than the 'normal' Valdivieso wines. This has to do with vinification, the origin of the grapes or the time of harvest. And you can taste that in this wine made by New Zealander Brett David Jackson.
